From Coast to Coast
| This journey will show you all the highlights Southern Finland has to offer. Experience the beauty of the Finnish archipelago and a part of the Finnish Lake District, discover exciting and interesting cities with overwhelming look-out towers. First of all you start your journey with an interesting guided tour of Helsinki where you will be introduced to the many gems that Helsinki has to offer. Porvoo is another must-see with a town plan dating from the Middle Ages, low houses, picturesque yards and narrow streets. Following this you are heading west alongside the South coast of the Baltic Sea to visit two of the most beautiful coastal cities and continue to Turku, the oldest town of Finland and former capital. For dinner we recommend a very unique place just outside of Turku where will enjoy a traditionally meal at an open fireplace in the tranquillity of a Finnish forest next to the Baltic Sea. Following this you will go to visit Naantali. Upon arrival you will see one of the most picturesque cities of Finland. Famous sights include a former monastery, the Old Town with narrow streets and a unique charm and the summer residence of the Finnish President. Your next destination is Rauma, the best preserved wooden city of Finland. Explore the beauty of this Old town, which was accepted onto the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1991. Only a stone’s throw outside of Rauma you will discover the most perfect sandy beach you would have never expected in Finland. Make sure you have your swimsuit with you. The next highlight is Tampere, a unique combination of a former industrial city and nature idyll with wonderful beaches. Not to be missed is the breathtaking view of Northern Europe’s highest observation tower. For the next day we recommend a cruise through the lake district enjoying the purity of Finnish nature.
