Nature and Tradition
Seurasaari open-air museum is situated on a small peninsula on the outskirts of Helsinki. The small island is very popular with locals and tourists alike and offers not only outdoor recreation but also provides an inside into the Finnish way of life centuries ago. The sights worth seeing include among others historical buildings like a medieval church, church boats, cottages, farmsteads and manors of the past four centuries brought to the island from all around Finland. Your guide will provide you with interesting facts about life in Finland at that time. Seurasaari is also famous for its various annual events like the Easter and Midsummer bonfires and the Christmas path, events that locals and tourists try not to miss. Last but not least you will see the curious, little squirrels throughout Seurasaari eating out of your hand while walking around this beautiful small island.
